Combat key "variables" needed
I used to use "pirox-bots" in WoW for those who knew, it had quite interesting idea for using skills that would work in D3 quite nice and if a bit further refined improve combat efficancy quite a lot.

The basic consept is simple. What key to use, when and HOW, defined by variables.

This example is based on an idea that one is playing a barba. Should work for every other class just as easy...

Each key should have an tick-box to "hold down the key" or "spam the key" and a box to verify how long.
For example, M1 tied to Barba Whirlwind to hold that down for 4-7sec at the beginning of a fight

Each key should have a "cooldown" box to verify how often that skill is used.
For example, barba "rend" that does huge damage over 5s but theres no point casting it again before it runs out
Also no point spamming WD-summon keys all the time...

Advanced:
"Use against elites" tickbox for that "heavy-hitter" like barba "summon 3 angry dudes" -skill.
With all other options, such as spam, cd, etc...
Atm, the bot often fails to cast COTA against elites

"Use against X-enemies" tickbox for when there are X-number of enemies around.
For example, Barba Whirlwind, rend, etc...

"use when HP=XX%" for regaining hp mid combat. Linkable with X-enemies
For example, Barba "Revenge" that heals 4% for each enemy hit but is quite useless for single target.

"Range-setting" as some skills only shoot as far as X-yards.
Also melee classes have some ranged skills they may use to pull enemies close

"cast while moving" as some skills tie you down and some can be cast while moving
An example is the Barba Whirlwind and WD runed spirit barrage

EDIT: some form of "console" window would be nice to see what the bot is doing. Would help maximizing efficancy.

RE: Combat key "variables" needed
Can you tell us more about the spammy skills you encountered? as implementing "pirox-bots" requires a lot of work.
Our current approach is to refine the build that are widely used.

BTW are you using speedhack or not?

RE: Combat key "variables" needed
Weapon throw and Ancient Spear get VERY spammy and so does Rend. Basic attacks like bash is rarely used and whirlwind is spammed instead of key being held down...

Pirox had its issues and was a WoW bot, i just thought to implement a similar idea.

There needs to be a way to conficure each skill/key and not specifig "build" - conficure the skills and ANY build will function.

EDIT: no speedhack.
